Applications
- Its nearest analog, 1-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC.HCL ) is known to be unstable in organic solvents prone to cyclize under basic conditions. Due to the different structure, QCD cannot cyclize yielding higher conversion efficiencies, the use of less coupling reagents.
- QCD, in combination with OxymaPure, does not generate hydrogen cyanide, an extremely toxic material that is observed with DCC or DIC.
- Use of OxymaPure as a synthesis additive results in improved yields and product quality.
- QCD, being a quaternary ammonium compound can be washed out from the organic extraction phase either by acidic or basic water phase. Both the coupling reagent and the formed urea prefer the water phase
- Not toxic, not irritate skin and eyes.
